When you apply for an xBNC account, you agree to the following terms of service.
- You must not leave #xBNC. This is not to increase channel count, it is to keep track of our users and to easily troubleshoot issues that may arise.
- You must not use remote-like client side scripts on your BNC. This includes RuneScape stats, DM games, automated channel control (mute, ban) and on-join automation but excludes self-activated content such as away scripts. This is due to the high bandwidth intensity running these induce. You are permitted to use them if you have purchased the appropriate premium package.
- You must not get Akilled, Killed or SVSKilled. We will automatically suspend any account that quits due to this. There is no need to ghost your BNC -- just login to it and change the nick.
- You must block your AMSGs in #xBNC -- click here for instructions on how to do so.
- You must adhere to SwiftIRC's rules. Failure to do so will result in the suspension or deletion of your account.
xBNC explicitly accept no responsibility for loss of data, nicknames or channels due to using our service. Password security is the sole responsibility of the account holder. See the 'Privacy Policy' below for details on what we do to keep your account safe.
Refunds for premium packages are provided at our discretion and are dealt with on a case-by-case basis. Donations are non-refundable.
Our service, premium packages and these terms and conditions are subject to change at any time for any reason.
Your account password (not your NickServ password, see here) is stored on our servers in an encrypted MD5 hash.
We will never disclose your personal information to a 3rd party unless required to do so by law. Your e-mail address is kept for the purpose of authenticating you in the event you forget your password.
Your IP address is recorded in webserver logs. While you are connected to your BNC, a staff member can request your user information including your IP address. These actions are logged and are visible to all other staff members. Staff members do not have access to IP logs and cannot request your IP address when you are disconnected from your BNC.
We deploy an optional feature on our servers which stores your NickServ password for the purpose of automatically identifying you with services if your BNC reconnects without you connected to it. Use this feature with caution, as your password will be stored in plaintext (there is no way around this) and if in the unlikely event our systems were compromised, your password could be stolen. To reiterate; if you choose to use this feature your NickServ password will not be encrypted.
